Recommended Weight Loss Products

Weight Loss

More Americans than ever are losing their battles with weight loss as the number of obese men and women in America has doubled in the past 30 years. Nearly 60% of Americans are overweight or obese today. Listening to all the weight loss methods and messages out there can confuse you and make you forget about the very important basics to keeping your weight down. If you are one of the many struggling to keep your stomach from overlapping your belt, this information might well be exactly what you’re looking for.

Causes For Weight Gain

It is very easy in this day and age to fall into a lot of habits that can contribute to that dreaded weight gain. Below are a few of the many reasons why so many Americans are becoming overweight:

  • We are consuming 300 more calories per day then 20 years ago.
  • We are eating out at a greater frequency.
  • We are eating larger portions.
  • We make the mistake of believing that all low-fat foods are healthy and we can eat as much of them as we want.
  • And the big reason… we do not get enough exercise.

Before heading out to the grocery store and loading up on low-fat, low-carb convenience foods, be sure to read the labels. Many low-fat, low-carb foods have more calories than the “normal” food.

    Weight Gain Prevention

Physical activity is a big factor too. Approximately one third of Americans do not get enough physical exercise. Instead, we spend most of our time sitting at our computers, watching TV, driving instead of walking, taking the elevator instead of the stairs, or taking any other kind of short cut that allow us to work less. It is recommended that you get 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day such as a brisk walk or a bike ride.

By sticking with the basic guidelines profiled above, weight loss and maintenance can be achieved, and with only a few minor changes to your lifestyle! There are no quick fixes or magic methods. Losing weight and keeping the pounds off does not come easy for many people. The idea of eating less and moving more should be the common approach.

Top 3 Ways to Clobber Cholesterol

Top 3 Ways to Clobber Cholesterol

    by Gary Gendron, D.C., C.C.S.P., C.C.N., D.A.C.B.N.

September is National Cholesterol Education Month. And although we hear a lot about it, many of us may not understand the basics of cholesterol or what can be done to help manage it. Unfortunately, there are no outward signs if you are having a cholesterol problem, making it even more important to get the facts.

    What is cholesterol?
Cholesterol is a fatty substance that cannot be dissolved in your blood stream. It must be transported out. Cholesterol moves through your blood stream via proteins called, lipoproteins. Too much of the "bad" cholesterol or Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL), can lead to clogging, while High Density Lipoproteins (HDL), or "good" cholesterol, carries cholesterol away from your arteries to keep you healthy. As you can see, you want less of the bad stuff - LDL - and more of the good stuff - HDL.

    Where does cholesterol come from?
I'm sure you've seen the same TV commercials I have about the two sources of cholesterol -your body and your diet. It's true. The cholesterol created in your body is made naturally in your liver as a protective agent to combat the bad cholesterol. Meats, whole milk, cheese, butter, eggs, and convenience foods inject additional amounts of cholesterol into your diet, which is why it's recommended you limit your consumption of these foods. But that's not always easy to do.

With today's on-the-go lifestyle, many of us eat at fast food restaurants or heat up a pre-packaged dinner in the microwave. These foods are often laden with unhealthy oils and fats that cause your cholesterol intake to go through the roof.

    Natural solutions to clobber cholesterol
Here are a few food, lifestyle, and supplement options to consider to you help clobber cholesterol naturally:

    Foods

    Oatmeal and oat bran

    Walnuts and almonds
Fish and Omega 3 fatty acids
    Pears and oranges
Brussels sprouts, carrots, dried peas and beans

    Lifestyle

It's recommended you get 30 minutes of regular physical activity most if not all, days.
Your diet should include lean meats, fish, skinless poultry, whole grain foods and fruits and vegetables

    Herbs and Natural Nutrients

Policosanol. This is a naturally occurring substance found in rice bran, sugar and beeswax. It blocks cholesterol's production at the earliest stages, helps maintain normal cholesterol production in your liver, and fosters normal LDL cholesterol excretion by your body.
Green tea. Research suggests that the polyphenols found in green tea combine with bile and cholesterol to form a substance that cannot be absorbed by your intestines, so it's eliminated.
Garlic. Supports your heart muscle so it pumps strong and healthy and promotes your heart's ability to utilize oxygen.
Hawthorn Berry. Helps keep cholesterol from getting stuck on your arteries.
Coenzyme Q-10. CoQ-10 is a fat-soluble compound that provides energy for every cell, and is especially important for your heart. As you age, your ability to produce CoQ-10 declines. And, if you take cholesterol-lowering statin drugs, it lowers your CoQ-10 levels even further.

In addition to the above, I recommend Cholest-ExTM from Botanic Choice because it combines many of these nutrients into a single formula.
Regardless of your approach, I suggest you know your numbers and work with your health care provider to help monitor your cholesterol before it's too late.

Insomnia - The Symptoms, Affects, and Treatments

Insomnia - The Symptoms, Affects, and Treatments

Do you lie awake at night spending more time staring at the ceiling than sleeping? You are not alone! Millions of other people are experiencing the same thing all across the world. They wake up in the middle of the night, can't fall back to sleep and rise before dawn.

    Forms Of Insomnia

Insomnia comes in many forms, not just in the form of sleeplessness:

  • Difficulty falling asleep

  • Having problems staying asleep after falling asleep. Waking up many times

  • during the night.

  • Waking up too early.

  • Not feeling refreshed after waking up.

    The Symptoms Of Insomnia

Insomnia can have a serious affect on a person’s daily life style. Symptoms of insomnia can include all of the following:

  • Feeling sleepy during the day

  • Having poor or slow judgment

  • Inability to pay attention to detail

  • Inability to remember things - even things that happened only minutes before.

  • Easily irritated by minor things

    Types Of Insomnia

  • Transient Insomnia - a temporary effect that lasts just a few days.

  • Short-Term Insomnia - lasts for between two to four weeks.

  • Chronic Insomnia - lasts for a month or longer.

    Causes Of Insomnia

There are many causes for insomnia. Below are some of the most common reasons people suffer from insomnia.

  • Stress - There are many stress management aides available to assist you in reducing your stress.

  • Noise in the sleeping environment

  • Extreme temperatures - too hot or too cold

  • Changes in your surrounding environment

  • Worrying about not being able to sleep

  • Excessive napping during the day time

  • Too much caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol before bedtime. Smoking contributes to many health related problems and you should try to quit smoking..

Tips For Getting A Good Night’s Sleep

Following some of the helpful guidelines below can help you get a better night’s sleep:

    Set A Schedule

Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. This will help your body get used to a sleeping pattern. "Sleeping in" on the weekends can cause insomnia because it is interrupting the sleep cycle that your body is used to.

    Get Some Exercise

Try to get 20 to 30 minutes of exercise no sooner than 6 hours before bedtime- any exercise just before bed may cause you not to sleep that well.

    Avoid Caffeine, Nicotine, and Alcohol

Avoid things that contain any caffeine such as coffee, soda pop, teas, and candy. Smokers usually sleep very lightly at night and will wake up at the slightest noise, sometimes not being able to fall back asleep. The same goes for people that drink alcohol just before going to bed.

Do Something Relaxing Before Going To Bed

Doing something that relaxes you before bed is good such as a warm bath, reading a book, or watching your favorite TV show.

    Do Not Over Sleep

Be sure to wake up and get out of bed at your normal time frame. Sleeping more hours than you are used to will throw off your sleep cycle and cause sleeping problems. It may cause you to not be tired at night and then go to bed later, thus resulting in sleeping in even later the next morning.

    Control Your Room Temperature

Extreme cold or warmth can cause you to sleep poorly. Be sure to maintain a comfortable room temperature that won't aggravate you during the night. If you have a waterbed be sure to set the water temperature at a comfortable temperature as well.

When It Is Time To See A Doctor

If your sleeping problem persists for more than one month then it may be time to visit your family doctor. Your doctor will be able to give you advice for your particular needs and can prescribe stronger sleeping aides that are not available over the counter.

10 Ways You'll Feel Better with Acai

10 Ways You'll Feel Better with Acai

by Dr. Karen Yale - B.A., D.C., C.C.N., D.A.C.B.N (Reprinted with the permission of BotanicChoice.com)

    What is Acai?

Acai is a berry from a palm tree that grows naturally in the Amazon region. Of particular interest are the antioxidants in Acai called anthocyanines, or pigments. You've probably heard about how it's important to eat a wide range of colorful fruit. That's because pigments found in natural fruits and vegetables contain important nutritional properties that help keep your heart healthy and your immune system strong.

Just so happens the little acai berry contains an enormous range of color pigments including orange, red, and blue. The more colorful the pigment, the better for your health!

    What's an ORAC?

ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, a standard adopted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It provides a very precise way of measuring the free radical destroying or neutralizing ability of a particular food or supplement. Whole, natural foods, especially fruits and vegetables have a higher ORAC value than processed foods. While the USDA recommends 3000-5000 ORAC units, most of us only get about 1000. The result? Free radicals roaming your body wreaking havoc on your cells, causing premature aging, heart concerns, and other health problems.

10 Ways to Boost Your Health with Acai

Besides offering powerful antioxidant protection with its high ORAC value as I discussed above, Acai also helps you 10 other ways. These are the reasons why celebrities are so excited — and I agree!

    1. Offers phenomenal weight control... so you can get as thin as you'd like when you use it in conjunction with a reduced calorie diet and exercise plan

    2. Boosts energy... so you can be as active as you'd like, all day, every day.

    3. Elevates your mood... so you feel good about yourself and are positive about life, even while exercising!

    4. Enhances digestion... so you're cleansed, refreshed and rarin' to go. Nutrients are absorbed and waste moves through efficiently.

    5. Harmonizes all your body's processes... so it's easier to reach your weight goal.

    6. Neutralizes free radicals... so you can rest assured you're protecting your good health.

    7. Fosters mental clarity... so you feel sharp, focused and on track

    8. Promotes healthy, luxurious-looking hair and radiant skin... so you can fool everyone about your age.

    9. Eases joint discomfort and muscle tension... so you can do all the activities you enjoy.

    10. Encourages healthy, natural sleep... so you wake up refreshed and ready to start your day.

What's more, Acai contains Omega 6 and 9 essential fatty acids to keep your cell membranes and systems health, along with vitamins B, C, and E for additional health benefits.

Start managing your weight and giving your health a super boost with Acai. Taking the right nutritional supplements can make your life healthier and happier every day! Click here to try Acai Slim Complex at Botanic Choice today! 100% Satisfaction Guarantee or you money back.

    The Truth about Free Radicals

    The Truth about Free Radicals
If you're confused by all the talk about free radicals and antioxidants you're not alone. Technical terms, biological reactions, organic compounds… It's enough to confuse a scientist! You don't want jargon. You don't want hype. You want the facts. Well, here they are.
    What Are Free Radicals?

Think back to your high school chemistry class. You may recall that at its most basic level, the human body is comprised of atoms. In addition to a nucleus, neutrons and protons, each atom has a pair of electrons orbiting around it. Because atoms constantly seek stability through paired electrons, it will often share its electrons with other atoms.
Sometimes, however, an electron breaks off. I'll tell you more about why in a moment. But what you're left with are two fragments, each containing unpaired, highly energized, highly unstable electrons. These are the infamous free radicals and they're looking to pair up with another electron. (Think singles bar.) And, they're not above breaking up another atom to get what they want. As you can imagine, this mayhem can cause a chain reaction of free radicals zipping around, bouncing into others, puncturing cell membranes, and wreaking havoc throughout your system, including your DNA.
Where do free radicals come from?

Free radicals are normal. They're the by-product of metabolism when you convert food into energy. So the good news is that, for the most part, your body knows how to deal with them. The bad news is that many of us have an excessive amount of free radicals – too many for our body to handle. The result? An overtaxed system that becomes vulnerable to a wide range of health concerns from daily annoyances, to accelerated aging, to major life-threatening problems.
While aging and stress can contribute to the creation of additional free radicals, other more avoidable sources include the American high-fat diet, chemically treated foods, pesticides, trans-fats, tobacco, refined sugar, and alcohol.
    Antioxidants to the rescue

Although you can't eliminate free radicals from your body completely, you can stay a step ahead by adopting a healthier diet, avoiding harmful chemicals and by using antioxidants.
Free radicals want to pair off with another electron and they're not picky about where it comes from. Antioxidants are their willing partner. The free radicals lap up their extra electron like a drooling 6-year old eating an ice cream cone.
Many people who want to boost their immune system take antioxidant supplements, including Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and other immune boosters.

Armed with this knowledge, you too can now fight free radicals with my weapon of choice – antioxidants, and have a long, healthy life.

    Treatment Of Bad Breath

    Bad Breath

Alot of things can cause bad breath whether it be from eating spicey foods, smoking cigarettes or drinking coffee or tea. One of the most common causes is the buildup of bacteria in your mouth, usually in the form of plaque which also is the main cause for gum disease. Some people believe that bad breath is caused from having alot of yeast in your intestinal tract from baked food and cheeses. Bad breath can also be caused by tooth decay, nose or throat infections, and even stress.

    Treatment Of Bad Breath

It is important to replace your toothbrush every month, as well as after any mouth infection that you may have had to help prevent any bacteria build up. You should also floss your teeth at least three times per week. Try to avoid commercial mouthwashes. Most of them contain nothing more than flavor, dye, and alcohol. Although they can initially destroy the bacteria and get rid of your bad breath, it is only temperary and the bacteria will return later in greater force.

Here are some other things that may be helpful in fighting bad breath:

    Brushing

You should try to brush your teeth after every meal. You may need to carry around a travel sized toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste. Make sure you brush your teeth, tongue, and gums for at least two minutes.

    Foods

You should increase your fruit intake while decreasing foods that are high in sugar, alcohol, and vinegar.

    Helpful Supplements

The following supplements will help you when fighting bad breath:

Super Papaya Enzyme Plus - Good for taking after your meals.

Vitamin C - You should consume 2000-6000 mg per day.

Are You Making These 7 Dieting Mistakes?

Are You Making These 7 Dieting Mistakes?
You've started a new diet. You've been good all week, making sensible meals, managing your portions, even exercising a little...then the weekend hits. You eat too much. You drink too much. You give up.
Not so fast! A couple of slipups won't undo all your hard work. The key is to know the dieting pitfalls you¢re likely to make and plan ahead to avoid them.
Here are the top seven dieting mistakes. How many are you making?

    1. Skipping breakfast.Research shows that people who don't eat breakfast actually weigh more than those who do. There's a mistaken belief that if you skip breakfast, you're saving calories. Problem is you end up snacking and eating more at other meals because you're body is so starved for food. Always begin your day with a healthy breakfast. Black coffee, an egg, whole wheat toast and a half grapefruit has only 250 calories and will stave off hunger pangs till lunch.

    2. Too many liquid calories. Did you know that a regular soda can pack on 15 pounds in one year? Not to mention lattes, fruit smoothies and alcohol. These liquid calories do little to satisfy any hunger and the calories add up fast.

    3. Not exercising. If 30 minutes is too much to even think about, start with 10 and see how it goes. If exercising is a drag to you, try something fun like bowling, playing ping-pong, or dancing. The idea is to get moving and have so much fun you'll stick with it.

    4. Using extreme diets. These don't work and can be very detrimental to your health. When you deprive your body of food two things happen: your metabolic rate slows down to make up for few calories and your desire to binge increases. In addition extreme dieting may lead to the bloating of fat cells, shrinking of muscle cells, accumulation of toxic fats and fatigue. Rather than thinking "diet" think lifestyle change.

    5. Mindless munching. Even if it's not on a plate, it still counts. A couple of cheesy crackers before dinner, test-tasting a sauce, finishing food from your kids¢ plates while washing dishes, all adds up to more calories. On average figure 25 calories per bite. Do that 4 times in a day and you've just added 100 extra calories to your waistline without even realizing it.

    6. Going overboard on low fat. It's psychological. You pick a low-fat snack and you justify eating more of it because it IS low fat. Research backs this up. More food, even if it is non- or low-fat still means more calories.

    7. Not taking vitamins and supplements. In a perfect world, we'd get all the nutrition, vitamins and minerals from our three perfectly balanced daily meals. Truth is, few of us do. Even if you think you're eating right, modern food processing can deplete whatever nutrients were in the food originally. That's why many take daily vitamins and supplements. While it's important for everyone, it's especially important for those who are trying to lose or maintain weight. It starts with a good, high-quality multivitamin. For those seeking weight loss support AND total health, nothing beats Apple Cider Vinegar Plus™, which is a proprietary formula fortified with green tea for calorie burning and energy.

As quickly as the pounds add up, they can also come off. The key is knowing what your pitfalls are and how to avoid them.

Your Health Scores a Perfect 10 with CoQ-10

Health Update: Your Health Scores a Perfect 10 with CoQ-10

Ever since Peter Mitchell, Ph. D. was awarded the 1978 Nobel prize in chemistry for his study of Coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ-10) in energy production, CoQ-10 has continued to gain popularity, especially for cardiovascular and anti-aging support.

It’s one of the most talked-about supplements with sales growing nearly 20 percent each year. It’s been the focus of hundreds of scientific studies and the subject of nearly a dozen international scientific meetings. So what’s the fuss all about? Read on to discover why CoQ-10 is a perfect 10 for health.

    What is CoQ-10?

CoQ-10 is a fat-soluble compound that occurs naturally in nearly every cell in your body. That’s why it’s also known as Ubiquinone for ubiquitous, for occurring everywhere. CoQ-10 is the catalyst that helps each cell burn sugar, fats and amino acids from the foods you eat. Think of CoQ-10 as the starter fluid you use on your grill to get your charcoal glowing. Without it, it’s hard to get your fire going, let alone your meal cooked.

Because CoQ-10 helps convert nutrients into energy, it’s found in highest concentrations in those areas with the highest energy needs – heart, liver and kidneys. Most studies on CoQ-10 have centered around its effect on the cardiovascular system. These studies have revealed some shocking facts - 50-70 percent of cardiac patients show a CoQ-10 deficiency.

    Who Needs It?

While your body does make CoQ-10, you can also absorb it from certain foods like peanuts, fish and organ meats, like kidney and liver. Unfortunately, most of us don’t eat these foods. What’s more as we age, our levels of CoQ-10 decline, making it especially important for those over 45 or the chronically infirm. Individuals taking certain cholesterol-lower drugs (statins) may also be at greater risk for a CoQ-10 deficiency since these drugs further deplete your supply of this needed nutrient.

    Why Do People Take It?

    • Cardiovascular system including heart, blood pressure, cholesterol, and arteries. Your heart works 24 hours a day and CoQ-10 helps give it the energy it needs for proper pumping.

    • Gum problems. If you think gum problems are harmless, think again. They are a leading cause of tooth loss and becoming more prevalent each year, in particular those over 35. Studies show these individuals have lower CoQ-10 levels.

    • Physical fitness. Since CoQ-10 is involved in cellular energy, it can improve endurance, giving your work out routine a needed jolt. Because you have greater stamina, you may have an added weight loss benefit, too.

    • Antioxidant protection. Free radicals roam your body in search of another electron to pair up with. They can wreak havoc, bumping around and stealing electrons from other cells. CoQ-10 limits the production of these dangerous free radicals.

    • Immune system. Since your immune system needs energy to stay strong, CoQ-10 can help keep it in tip-top shape.

    • Counteract statin drugs. As I mentioned above, studies show this class of drugs may interfere with your body’s ability to produce CoQ-10.

How to Stay Healthy and Maximize Your Results on a Low Carb Diet

How to Stay Healthy and Maximize Your Results on a Low Carb Diet

We know that low carb dieting works, but did you know that nutritional
supplements can help it work better? First the basics on low-carb
    dieting.

    Q: What are carbs?

    A:
Carbs (carbohydrates) are organic compounds that exist in foods as a sugar, a
starch, or a cellulose (a woody fiber). There are two kinds of carbohydrates:
Simple (refined) carbohydrates are “fast” sugars. They break down into sugar
fast in your system, and cause a rush of insulin to come to help process the
sugar, which then leaves your system unbalanced, with too much insulin. Simple
carbs like cake have been stripped of fiber and nutrients, then processed into
starchy, sugary foods like white breads, donuts, cookies, white rice, pasta, and
such. They sure help you gain weight! They can also lead to a dangerous
condition called metabolic syndrome, which can lead to diabetes and other
    serious health problems.

    Complex (unrefined) carbohydrates are “slow”
sugars. They break down into sugar slower in your system, and cause a slow
release of insulin, keeping a proper sugar-insulin balance. It’s harder for your
body to burn foods like brown rice and whole grains. These unrefined carbs also
make your body burn some fat for energy. These carbs give you slow, steady
    source of energy.

Simple and complex carbohydrates are rated with
something called the Glycemic Index or GI. To find out more about the Glycemic
    Index, click here.

    Q: What does a low-carb
    diet do?

A: A low carb diet (perhaps better named a low
simple-carb diet) strictly limits your carbohydrate intake, and forces your body
to burn mostly fat. It can do this because limiting carbs limits sugar. There is
less sugar to burn, so your body turns to all that extra stored fatto burn for
energy! That’s why you lose weight on a low-carb diet.

    Be sure to ask a
doctor or health care professional if low-carb eating is a good choice for you.
Here are nutritional supplements from Botanic Choice that can benefit your
    health during low carb dieting:

    High Potency
    Vitamin and Mineral Formula
makes sure you have all the basics for health.
    It contains high amounts of Vitamins A, C, D, E, B-1, B-2 and B-12 for your
protection, plus 12 more important nutrients and minerals.

    Vitamin C is
recommended in addition to a strong multivitamin, because C has proven
antioxidant protection. Vitamin C is water-soluble, so it needs to be replaced
    frequently.

    Chromium GTF
has been shown to be part of the body’s “glucose (sugar) tolerance factor” and
this essential mineral can help promote fat loss while increasing lean muscle
    tissue.

    Calcium
    Carbonate
is good for the important calcium-potassium balance in every
    cell.

    Super EPA Fish
    Oil
gives you essential fatty acids known for keeping cardiovascular and
circulatory systems in the best health.

Round out your low carb dieting
program with a good fiber supplement like
    Psyllium Husk
    or Oat
    Bran
and try to fit in at least 20 minutes of brisk exercise each day.

Cold and Flu Prevention And Treatment.

Cold & Flu Prevention And Treatment

In any given day, you are exposing yourself to a multitude of pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and fungus as you interface with other people in the workplace, at school, through public transportation, and even with other family members. This is simply a natural part of living in the world, to which a healthy body can easily adjust and compensate.

    Prevention

Because the cold and flu virus is passed around from person to person the only way to really prevent them totally is to become a hermit. The more people that you come into contact with the better your chances are of catching the virus. If there is a lot of cold and flu sickness going around here are some ways you can help reduce your chances of catching them:

  • Flu Shots

Get a flu shot every year. Your family doctor will give you more information about flu shots such as when to get them and if he/she recommends for you to get it.

  • Getting Your Rest

One of the overlooked reasons for catching a flu or cold is the lack of rest and sleep. Inadequate rest and sleep can cause the breakdown of your immune system making you more vulnerable to the cold and flu viruses.

  • Washing Your Hands

Washing your hands on a regular basis will help out alot. This is because most of the time you catch the virus by touching someone that has it and then rubbing your eyes, nose, or mouth. You can also catch the virus if someone near you who has is it sneezes or coughs and you breathe it in... not really much you can do about that.

  • Avoid Sudden Temperature Changes

Keeping warm and avoiding sudden temperature changes such as being in a warm home and going into the cold outdoors will help prevent the virus. Always wear warm clothing when moving from a warm place to a cold place as this will increase your resistance to these viruses.

  • Quit Smoking

If you smoke then quit. Smokers aren't more vulnerable, but when they catch a cold or flu virus the symptoms are much worse than they are non-smokers. Kicking the habbit is not easy but will be well worth it when it comes to your health. There are many products that can assist you in breaking the habit such as Stop-It Smoking Kit and products like Smokeshield that can protect your lungs from smoke and other pollutants.

  • Keep Your Immune Systems Strong

Keeping a strong immune system is very important to preventing the cold and flu virus. Your immune system is what fights off the viruses and keep you healthy and feeling good.

  • Being Prepared

One of the best defenses against the cold and flu is to be prepared for it in the even that you or a family member catches it. Having cold and flu treatment products in your home ahead of time is much better than rushing out to the 24 hour convenience store at 3 a.m. trying to find something to comfort yourself or a family member.

    Treatment

Just because there is no guarantee that you will not catch a cold or flu virus, that doesn't mean that you can't treat it. Here are some treatments that you can use to make someone with the virus more comfortable:

  • Rest in bed and stay warm. Avoid any physical exertion as much as possible.

  • Drink plenty of fluids such as water, juice, and clear soups. Stay away from alcoholic beverages.

  • Take plenty of Vitamin C.

  • If you are a smoker then avoid smoking and the smoke from other people.

    Age Spots Treatment

    Age Spots

Age spots are flat brown spots that can appear on the body as it ages. Most age spots appear on the neck, hands, and face. The age spots themselves are harmless but can be a sign of more serious things to come. They are a buildup of waste know as lipofuscin accumulation which is a byproduct of free radical damage in the skin cells.

Age spots are actually signs that the cells are full of the type of accumulated wastes that slowly destroyes the body's cells. The greatest cause of age spots is from to much exposure to the sun. Other factors that can contribute to the developement of age spots are:

  • Poor liver function

  • Lack of excercise

  • Poor diet

  • The ingestion on oxidized oils over time

    Treatment

Since sun exposure is the largest contributor to the cause of age spots then minimizing your exposure to the sun would be the best treatment. Eating a diet that is high in vegetable protein and that consists of 50% raw fruits and vegetables, plus fresh grains, cereals, seeds, nuts. It is also a good idea to avoid caffeine, sugar, saturated fat, and red meat. As with any health related issue, if you are a smoker, you are advise to try to quit smoking.
